Games Like Murdoku
Hooked on murder sudoku? Here are free places to play Murdoku-style puzzles online, plus the daily mystery logic games that scratch the same itch. Details checked in October 2026.
Disclosure: Clues & Culprits is our game. Everything else on this list is made by other people, and we describe it as fairly as we can.
What is Murdoku?
Murdoku crosses a murder mystery with sudoku. The suspects have to be placed on a floor plan so that no two share a row or a column, and written clues rule squares in or out. When the one arrangement that fits every clue clicks into place, the suspect left alone with the victim is the killer. It began in puzzle books and spread online in 2026, helped along by TikTok.

5. Clues & Culprits: a ring of culprits, every verdict proven
If the row-and-column reasoning is what hooks you in Murdoku, our row and column clues, corner clues and neighbour clues will feel familiar. Instead of placing people, you prove who is guilty: 16 to 25 suspects on a grid, several of them criminals, everyone telling the truth. The game only accepts a verdict the clues force, and shows how many scenarios are still possible. Three new cases a day, an Evil case on Sundays, and every past case free to read.

Questions
Can you play Murdoku online for free?
Yes. Several sites have free Murdoku-style puzzles you can play in your browser, including Murdoku Online and Cluedoku. The format itself started in puzzle books.
What is the difference between Murdoku and Murdle?
Murdoku is spatial: you place suspects on a floor plan, sudoku-style, so no two share a row or column. Murdle is a logic grid: you match who did it, with what, where and why.
Is Clues & Culprits a Murdoku game?
No. It is a different deduction format: you work out which of 16 to 25 truthful suspects are criminals, and the game only accepts verdicts the clues prove. Many of its clues are about rows, columns, corners and neighbours, so Murdoku players tend to feel at home.
