This Easy case seats 16 suspects on a 4×4 grid. 14 of them carry a clue; the other 2 only have something to say about themselves. Every step can be proven from a single clue plus what you already know. The order below is one valid route; any order where each verdict is proven when you enter it reaches the same answer.

What happened

Marco never went into the water — a mannequin in his dinner jacket did, in front of three witnesses. Emil, the officer commanding the night watch, slowed the search and logged the wrong drift; Arlo, the radio officer, gave the coastguard a position forty miles out; and Felix and Kurt, two card sharks who owed Marco money, swore they had watched him fall. Percy, the purser, hid him in an unbooked cabin all the way to Lisbon. Celia played the grieving partner to two million followers and collected the insurance. The ice cream was pistachio.
